A Body-Based Approach to emotional clarity
We’ve all had moments where the insight is there—intellectually, you get it—but something still won’t shift. You know you’re safe, but your body is bracing. You understand the pattern, but it still plays out. You’ve journaled, reflected, reframed… and yet.
Sometimes the issue isn’t lack of understanding.
It’s that your body hasn’t caught up.
That’s where somatic work comes in.
What Is Somatic Work?
“Somatic” simply means of the body. Somatic approaches to healing recognize that our thoughts, emotions, and memories don’t just live in the mind—they’re stored and expressed through our bodies. Muscles tighten. Breath shortens. The nervous system revs or collapses. We contract, adapt, freeze, or push through.
Somatic work helps unwind those patterns—through body-based techniques that restore regulation, presence, and clarity. It can include acupuncture, touch, breathwork, guided movement, or subtle energetic shifts. What all somatic practices share is the belief that the body isn’t just a bystander in the healing process—it’s where the shift happens.
Why You Can’t Always Think Your Way Through It
The brain loves a good story. But when we’re activated, stressed, or overwhelmed, we lose access to the parts of the brain that govern perspective, decision-making, and emotional regulation. That’s why it’s hard to reason with anxiety. That’s why your body might still feel guarded even when you know you’re okay.
Cognitive insight is important. But on its own, it’s often not enough.
When we shift the state of the nervous system—through breath, sound, acupuncture, or safe touch—we create the physiological conditions for change. The mind relaxes. The body releases. The story softens.
And from that place, new things become possible.

How I Work Somatically
Nearly everything I offer—acupuncture, Insight & Embodiment, even sound healing and visioning work—has a somatic component.
Sometimes we talk first, to explore the pattern or get clear on what’s emerging. Other times we begin with the body: calming the nervous system, clearing stagnation, or re-patterning through acupuncture, breath, or sound.
Either way, the goal is integration:
Helping you not just understand the shift, but feel it.
Helping you move from insight… into embodiment.
